Perhaps a joyful bizarre love triangle between ‘Moloko’, ‘Bjork’ and ‘The The’ gave rise to Madam Nightingale: a visually stunning emerging post-genre act to watch. Madam Nightingale is a duo performing synthpop-influenced songs written by multimedia artist Phaedra Gunn ('The Winterfriends', 'Nothing But Colour'), arranged by multi-instrumentalist Dean Lombard ('The Fish John West Reject', 'Dear Buffalo', 'The Phosphenes'). Since their first prize winning debut performance ‘Taking flight’ during St Kilda festival 2020, Madam Nightingale regularly deliver a spellbinding continuous cycle of song, visual art & theatrical spoken word, and have been selected to perform in both FUSE & FRINGE festivals in 2022. Together as Madam Nightingale, Dean & Phaedra deliver an engaging theatrical musical performance that’s not to be missed.

The band prefer to perform as a duo at a powered/rain-proof site as they're 90% electronic. If the venue doesn't have light & sound etc they have their own lights & gantry, PA/mixers, smoke machines & tech/roadie who is happy to support the band for $180 per gig. The band ideally suit festivals, special events & dance club or theatre set-ups, but can perform in galleries, intimate venues & traditional pubs. The band do not recommend cafes/restaurants as they are not a 'background' act.
